Connect Transpas by Art Systems to your supply chain
We connect Transpas to the systems of your customers, carriers and platforms — via the standard order import, TLN messages, EDI or API, with support and maintenance included. And we use the data in Transpas to build overviews and dashboards.

Transpas connected to the rest of your supply chain
Do you use Transpas, the Dutch TMS by Art Systems? Then we connect it to the rest of your supply chain, so orders, status updates and documents flow through automatically. You keep the way of working you know; we take care of the integration around it: designed, built and monitored.
At many transport companies, Transpas has been the heart of the planning for years, often with a setup of its own. A good integration fits that setup, your rules, planning groups and translation tables, instead of sitting alongside it.
We integrate Transpas via EDI and API, depending on what your partners support. See also our TMS & WMS integrations.
What Transpas offers for an integration
Standard order import
Transpas Enterprise has its own XML format for transport orders. We translate your customer’s format into it, so orders come in without retyping.
The EDI Transportorders screen
Imported orders first land in the EDI Transportorders screen, where they are checked and matched before they appear in the planning. So you stay in control, or you accept them automatically.
TLN status updates and trip export
Trips go to subcontracted carriers as TLN or Transpas XML, and their status updates come back on the right trip via the TLN status import, just as if an on-board computer were reporting them. (TLN is the Dutch transport and logistics association.)
Invoices in standard formats
Transpas exports invoices as UBL and via Peppol, among others. If a customer wants another format, we convert it.
What we connect to Transpas
- Orders from shippers into Transpas, via EDI (IFTMIN), XML, Excel, CSV or email. See importing orders without EDI.
- Status updates and POD back to the customer, in the format they want: IFTSTA, TLN XML, an API call or a file.
- Trips to subcontracted carriers and their status updates back. See carrier integration.
- Transpas linked to a WMS, so orders that are ready to ship appear in the planning automatically.
- Invoices to the customer, as INVOIC, UBL or via Peppol.
What to plan for with Transpas
Every package has its own rules. These are the points that, with Transpas, make the difference between an integration that keeps running and one that stalls every now and then. We take them into account from day one.
Translation tables per customer
Transpas translates units, addresses and statuses per customer via the EDI provider. If a rule is missing there, a field arrives empty rather than with an error message. We help fill in those tables and check them.
Errors are not reported back
The standard order import has no web service that replies directly. A file that is not right ends up in an error folder. We keep an eye on that folder, so a rejected order does not sit there unnoticed.
Recognising changes
Whether a second message is a new order or an update is decided by Transpas on the basis of the customer’s reference. That has to be set up correctly from the start, or you end up with duplicate shipments.
Transpas collects the files itself
Transpas works with files and collects them itself from a folder or FTP server; it is not a server that a customer sends to. We arrange the place where your customers’ files arrive.
Orders from a shipper into Transpas, status updates sent back automatically
Take a carrier that receives orders from a shipper as an EDIFACT message, but enters them into Transpas by hand because the format does not match the import. Status updates go back by email.
-
01
We translate the shipper’s message into the Transpas standard order import and place it in the folder that Transpas monitors.
-
02
Transpas reads in the order, translates the codes via this customer’s translation tables and shows it in EDI Transportorders. If everything is correct, it is accepted automatically.
-
03
On delivery, Transpas creates a TLN status message. We convert it into an IFTSTA for the shipper, with the signed consignment note attached.
The shipper’s orders appear in the planning without retyping, and the shipper receives status updates in their own format.
Reporting and dashboards with your Transpas data
Transpas holds your orders, trips, status updates and invoices. If you want to see that data in an overview of your own, or share it with customers and colleagues who do not work in Transpas, we extract it from Transpas through the integration and make it available where you need it.
- A customer portal of your own, where your customers look up the status of their orders and shipments themselves, without calling or emailing.
- A dashboard for planning or management, showing, for example, the number of orders per customer, the trips per day or the status updates that are still open.
- An export to Excel or Power BI, so you can create your own reports and charts of trips, status updates and invoices.
Which figures you want to see and how often they are refreshed, we agree with you in advance. We take the data from a copy of your Transpas database, so Transpas itself does not slow down. Nobody has to retype it or keep it up to date in a spreadsheet.

Transpas integration in brief
Which partners do you connect Transpas to?
Any shipper, carrier or platform, via EDI, API or file exchange. We connect Transpas to the partners you work with.
Does it also work with Transpas CS or Transpas Online?
We build most integrations on Transpas Enterprise. If you use the older Transpas CS, or want customers and subcontractors to work in Transpas Online, we check in advance what is possible there.
Does Art Systems need to be involved as well?
For the standard order import and the TLN messages, usually not. Sometimes something has to be set up or activated in Transpas; we then coordinate that with you and Art Systems.
Can you build dashboards with data from Transpas?
Yes. Through the integration we extract orders, trips, status updates and invoices from Transpas and put them into an overview that suits you: a customer portal of your own, a dashboard or an export to Excel or Power BI. Which figures you want to see, we decide together with you in advance.
Who looks after the integration once it is live?
We do. We monitor the integration proactively, so it keeps running day in, day out.
